Steak and Smoked Gouda Pretzel Sandwiches

I love your blog. I have become a HUGE fan of it in just a short time. We are currently nomads, so we don't have a home. However, as soon as I get my kitchen up and running I will start cooking again with even more ideas that you provide all the time!
Thank you so much, Ana!
taassty! alton brown's the bomb. my fn fav. as for rachael ray, could she be more annoying?!?
For your list of cooking tools for your wish list, you should think about a cast iron grill pan if you don't have one. It's one of my kitchen essentials. Not that you necessarily need it - your steak sandwich looks wonderful

waterbaby, to answer your question--no. rachael ray could not possibly be any more annoying. blech!

laurie, i have a cast iron pan and a nonstick grill pan, but i don't have a cast iron grill pan. hmm, maybe once we get a bigger kitchen... ;)

mmmmm. that looks absolutely fabulous.and sounds divine.
this looks fantastic. i have some steaks in the freezer and want to try this searing in pan and then cooking in oven method. i haven't yet. i do not have a cast iron pan though, so my stainless steel skillet will have to do for now!
That steak sandwich looks really good! I am going to have to see if I can find some smoked gouda.

A couple years ago I had your set up. Then I got one cast iron grill pan. Then I got another. They are far superior to either of the other for items that need quick grilling, or steaks for that matter. I'm bringing my regular grill pan to Greece - I definitely don't need it here anymore. But yes, I definitely understand about the bigger kitchen problem!

this looks so good! i confess - i don't think i've ever eaten gouda cheese!

and p.s. - you've been tagged!
hmmm, i'm not sure i've ever had gouda. if it is mild tasting, i might give it a try (i don't like bleu cheese, gorgonzola, etc)

i love alton brown too (obviously!), i'm currently reading his book about cooking methods...
ashley and mrsp, you must try smoked gouda! it is one of my favorite cheeses on the planet. mrsp, it's pretty mild, or at least not as strong and stinky as blue cheeses.
