Time to make the loukoumades!

LOL - i love your fried critters! :) i actually think the aardvark looks more like a chipmunk or flying squirrel :) regardless of how they're shaped, this looks delicious! how can anything fried not be? ;)

Ok, I just about died laughing when I saw your fried ardvark :) These look so delicious. I want to eat them right now.
LOL! i think they look great. yay for conquering yeast! they look wonderful. something about making donuts scares me. so i'm not gonna do it. i don't know what it is. it might be the deep drying. i've never deep fried anything in my life. but now i want some homemade donuts. this is officially the longest comment i've ever left on anyone's blog. haha :-)

Sorry I couldn't be of any help.

MrsP, it *does* sort of look like a flying squirrel, huh?

Thanks Brianna!

Kayte, seriously, if *I* can make donuts (albeit not very attractive ones) anyone can!

Peter, no worries! I have found tons and tons of other things on your blog that look amazing!

Elly, one of the strongest memories I have of first visiting Greece as a child was eating Loukoumades for the first time and they are still my favourites.

Yours look fine and I'm they tasted great, as evidenced by the empty plate.
Elly, although I have made traditional loukoumades lots of times, I haven't made them since I began blogging and if you see my yesterday's post you'll see that I chose to make the loukoumades they make at Symi island.

Peter, luckily they did taste better than they looked. Story of my career in baking :)

Ivy, I notced those doughnuts on your blog this morning as I was going through all the blogs I follow. Those look great too! I am looking forward to your loukoumades recipe eventually, too!

These look great and lol @ your animal commentary!
Tee Hee Elly! They may not look the way they aren supposed to, but I am sure they were awesome! I think you need to join the Daring Bakers so you can really get over your fear of yeast!

I have never had this kind of doughnut before, but they sure do sound tasty!!

I am always surprised when some of the worst looking food...tastes the best!!

As long as they taste good, who cares if they look like dead animals? LOL

These sound like a really interesting type of doughnut. They looks nice and tasty with that syrup the walnuts and cinnamon.
I had to laugh at all the shapes of these little gems with their honey syrup. They remind me of baklava which has to be one of my favourite little treats :D
Thank you for going beyond your fear of yeast to make these traditional fritters. They look wonderful!

These look absolutely mouth watering! I am going to have to try these soon. :o)
