I'm not familiar with that chef Elly, but the menu sounds like a whole conglomerate of flavours! Wow! Keep up the reviews.
I admit it - I'm jealous
I am neither familiar with the Chef but lucky you going at such a fancy restaurant and enjoying gourmet gastronomy.
I'm jealous too Elly! This menu is mouthwatering... I don't care there's no photos to see the dishes... I could picture it all in my mind... delicioso!!!! Too bad Chicago is a bit far away from my house ;-)
Last summer we had reservations for Topolo but they seated us in Frontera. I was not disappointed, the food was great and we got to have our picture taken with Mr. Bayless.

I'm glad you enjoyed your experience.

I've never eaten at Topolo but I have had the pleasure of dining at Frontera, which I LOVED! It's been a couple of years but I would gladly go back. I love Rick Bayless' cookbooks, I went to see him last time he was here in Milwaukee for a book signing.

Do you ever eat at LeColonial? It's on Rush, I think? I could absolutely LIVE FOREVER on their spring rolls ..... oh, I'm getting so hungry just thinking about it. You're so lucky to live in Chicago!

Leah, I've actually never been to Le Colonial! There are so many places on my list to try and that's one of them. I absolutely love Vietnamese food.
[this is good]
I am, in fact, very jealous. I love Rick Bayless' books, I love the recipes I've made, and one day, if I'm lucky, I'll eat at one of his restaurants. I'm so glad you had a good time, and that the food didn't disappoint.
Ooooooh Elly. I'm going to hop on a train and meet you at Le Colonial. First we will have the spring rolls (double order, sorry... I don't share well with others!), and then the Eggplant & Prawn Coconut Curry (Cari Tom, I think). First, let's have a cocktail at Tavern on Rush for great people watching!!.
