Wow, Elly, this seriously messed with my head! I want it now! Thanks so much for sharing the recipe. Once I get a new kitchen, this will be made. I promise.
I've never heard of "torlou-tourlou". Is it a regional name in Greece? I love briam and often serve it as a side to a main dish. I'm with you Elly..I love dill and parsley (which I consider to be iconic in Greek cooking along with oregano) in tomato based sauces. Beautiful!
Peter, to be honest, I'm not sure if it's regional! This is what my yiayia has always called it and when I asked her the difference between tourlou tourlou and briam she said tourlou has more veggies. LOL I don't think that's really true but what I do think is that tourlou tourlou basically means "all mixed up."

Katie and Singing Horse, I hope you like it! I definitely think you will. :)
I don't know if I can enlighten Peter's question about briam and tourlou (BTW why change the r into a d?) but basically they are
Ivy if you've ever heard my husband (and others) say lamb like the name "Arnie" you would know why ahd-NEE sounds much better LOL!
I've tourlou and briam...both acceptable to me. I'm more concerned about the approach to the dish.

I want yum-yum, Elly knows yum-yum!

when I first arrived on the island of Kea I walked to the top of the Hora and had a briam at the restaurant there. This dish rminds me of that so thanks Elly:D

Kind of like ratatouille but with a potato added.... I like that idea!

This sounds fabulous and I cannot wait to try something similar - the slow-roasting part sounds especially appealling.
I sent my dad a link to your blog so he could check out this recipe because he loves roasted veggies... well, sure enough he decided to make this for dinner! It was great, thanks so much!
So glad you guys liked it, Anna!
wow, that is the most delightful mix of veggies! makes me wish i had more veggies on hand in this place more often......
